CrossFit Advanced Workout

A lot has been happening around the digital realms of CrossFit Advanced. To keep things exciting, we were brought in to do a short video during a routine workout. However, in watching the video, you will certainly find that not all workouts are equal.

Test Your Metal 2011 CrossFit Competition

The Test Your Metal 2011 CrossFit Competition is now over and the soreness is setting in. The event was a great success, bringing in around 60 contestants from different parts of the tri-state area. We had a great time working on the branding for the event as well as participating.

We have been fortunate enough to work with many diverse businesses since we’ve opened the doors here at J Taylor Design. Ranging from lawyers, to hair salons, to fitness trainers, we’ve enjoyed working with different types of people and personalities from all over.

Recently I’ve been taking some fitness classes from one of our fitness trainer clients. He runs a few different fitness businesses underneath his Advanced X Training umbrella including Tuff Camp, Advanced Personal Training and CrossFit Advanced. I’ve been taking the CrossFit classes. I wasn’t too sure what to expect from the classes before signing up to take them. I knew that they were high intensity workouts that would challenge me, but that’s about it. I’m now in my 4th week or so of classes and I’m pretty hooked. There is something definitely special about CrossFit. However, that’s not what this article is about.

We recently upgraded our digital SLR to the new Canon T2i which shoots full HD video. I cannot express how awesome this camera is. Not that our old Canon Rebel XT was bad or anything… but with the huge back screen, some modified functionality, and then the full HD video on top of that, it’s hard to not be impressed with this camera. Over Memorial Day weekend I took a trip with family to Knobel’s Amusement Park which is in Elysburg, PA. Knobel’s is a really old style amusement park where it almost feels like your stepping back in time. Regardless, I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to take the new video functionality of the camera for a spin. After the break we have what we ended up with after mixing the video together and dropping an audio track on top. Other than that, we didn’t modify the colors or any of the video as we wanted this to be an accurate example as to what this camera can do.

A Web Copy Writer friend of ours sent along this video to us early this week. Essentially the video pokes fun at how some clients want all the glitz and glam in the world when it comes to their projects, but they don’t necessarily want to pay for it… This video takes a look at regular world situations like going out to eat, getting your hair cut, buying a DVD, etc. and what would happen in those situations if those conversations were presented. Please note, that not all clients are like this…

I saw a clip of this video watching a show on Comedy Central and I thought that it was hilarious. If you haven’t seen the trailer for The Box yet, then the video posted below will not make any sense. We’ll give you a quick summary from what we get from the movie trailer. The Box presents a moral dilemma for whoever it encounters. If pushed one million dollars will be granted to the person who presses the button. However, at the same time, someone somewhere in the world will die. Here is a link to watch the trailer first if you haven’t seen it yet.

Keep It Simple

I was forwarded this video from a friend who works in marketing. The idea is that the ‘stop sign’ hasn’t been created yet and an agency is hired to develop it. It’s really a fun video that anyone in a design field can get a kick out of. Sometimes clients can overcomplicate a simple idea that is otherwise a perfect idea! Sometimes designers can overcomplicate a design. So it definitely works both ways!
